Women Veterans Health Care
General Health and Wellness
VA wants you to have the quality health care you have earned and deserve. We provide health services for all stages of your life, from routine care to cancer screenings to management of long-term disorders such as heart disease, diabetes, and chronic pain.
The Health Appointment Checklist for women empowers women Veterans to prepare for, navigate, and follow up on medical appointments effectively. It promotes thoughtful preparation, clear communication, and addressing key health topics, ensuring personalized care. The checklist supports ongoing health management with practical steps and resources like MyHealtheVet and the Women Veterans Call Center.

Understanding Whole Health
Whole Health is VA's approach to health care. We recognize you as a whole person, going beyond illnesses, injuries, or disabilities. We support you with evidence-based plans that include traditional treatments and complementary and integrative health therapies (e.g., yoga, massage therapy, and acupuncture).
Whole Health involves a wide range of support for fitness, mindfulness, stress reduction, nutrition, sleep, relationships, personal development, and more. VA also considers social factors when providing you with personalized care, including living conditions, access to resources (like transportation), income, military service, past trauma, as well as the gender and racial disparities women Veterans may experience.
